I would like to acknowledge everyone in my family and friends who have helped me throughout the course of my project. This includes my mother Niha Shah, father Girish Shah, brother and sister-in-law – Deven and Sheetal and finally, my best friends – Dharti and Vas.
I
would also like to give special thanks to Dr. Andrew Moiseff, my major and
thesis advisor. In addition to
being a great mentor and resource, his enthusiasm and positive attitude about
this project since day one has been the driving force for the successful
completion of my research and thesis.
My
regards extend to all the faculty members and staff at the University of
Connecticut for guiding me all the way in my years at UConn.
Finally, my special thanks and regards to Dr. Sanoba Irani in India. Her inspiration and mentorship was the main reason for the interest I developed in learning acupressure. Even though we were far distances apart, her continued support for this project fueled my desire to keep looking for physiological and neural correlates of acupressure and make an attempt to explain this science in western terms.
Sincerely,
Dishant Shah
